59th Presidential Tour of Türkiye cycling race concludes with exciting finale

Under the auspices of the Presidency, the 59th Presidential Tour of Türkiye Cycling Race, organized by the Turkish Cycling Federation, has concluded with the presentation of medals to the winners.

Due to the roads becoming slippery after rainfall just before the race was set to begin from Besiktas Square, the organizing committee, athlete representative, team representative, and referee committee decided to neutralize the stage. The race saw athletes reaching the finish line hand in hand after traversing the designated route to Sultanahmet.

With the race being neutralized, it was decided that the prize money would be donated to a charity. Following the general classification, the winners received their medals and trophies.

Leading both the climbing classification and the Türkiye Beauties classification, Vincent Dorn from the Bike Aid team received his awards from Istanbul Deputy Governor Unal Kilicarslan, Yunus Ozleyen on behalf of Turkish Airlines, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veli Ozan Cakir from the General Directorate of Sports.

Danish cyclist Tobias Andresen, who led the sprint classification and secured the Green Jersey, received his medal and award from Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Safa Kocoglu.

Frank van den Broek claims the Turquoise Jersey

Frank van den Broek from the Dsm-Firmenich PostNL team, who finished atop the 59th Presidential Tour of Türkiye Cycling Race and also claimed the turquoise jersey, was awarded by Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Askin Bak and Turkish Cycling Federation President Emin Muftuoglu, along with second-placed Eritrean Merhawi Kudus and third-placed Briton Paul Double.
