Australia provides nearly $100M in additional military aid to Ukraine

Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Richard Donald Marles said that additional military aid worth 100 million dollars will be provided to Kyiv.

According to the written statement issued by the Australian Ministry of Defense, Minister Marles spoke to the press in Lviv, Ukraine, where he met with Ukrainian PM Denis Shmygal.

Marles, who said that additional military aid worth $ 100 million would be provided to Ukraine with the support of the Australian defense industry, pointed to the continuity of support for Operation Kudu, in which Ukrainian soldiers were trained under the leadership of the U.K.

Marles emphasized that the additional military aid package will include $50 million worth of short-range air defense systems, $30 million worth of unmanned aerial systems, $15 million worth of high-priority equipment such as helmets, hard hull inflatable boats, smoke masks, generators and boots and air-to-surface ammunition.

This brings Australia's total military assistance to Ukraine since the start of the war to $880 million.
