2 police officers martyred in incident at police station in Adiyaman

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced on his social media account that 2 police officers who were wounded with a gun by a police officer at Altinsehir Police Station in Adiyaman were martyred.

In his statement, Minister Yerlikaya stated that at around 8.15 p.m. Türkiye time, a police officer working at Adiyaman Altinsehir Police Headquarters injured the Police Headquarters Chief and the Chief of Public Security Branch Directorate Teams with his own personal weapon.

Stating that the perpetrator of the incident was neutralized and detained, Yerlikaya said, “Our Police Station Chief and Chief of Teams, who were transferred to the hospital with severe injuries, could not be saved despite all the interventions made in the hospital and unfortunately became martyrs. We wish God's mercy to our martyrs who lost their lives in the incident and patience and condolences to their grieving families. A judicial and administrative investigation has been initiated.”
