Singer and group cancel concert in Tel Aviv after warning from Israeli security officials about danger of Hamas rocket fire.
Canadian rock star Neil Young and his group Crazy Horse have cancelled a concert they were scheduled to give Thursday in Israel, leaving more than 30,000 fans disappointed.
A statement released on behalf of Young and his group said the concert was called off because the region was under Hamas rocket fire, according to a warning from Israel security officials.
The concert was planned to be performed in one of the main concert venues in Tel Aviv and more than thirty thousand tickets had been sold so far.
The statement said that Neil Young and Crazy Horse were deeply upset.
Neil Young and our group could not meet our fans for this time," the statement said. "Yet, we look forward to playing in Palestine and Israel in peace.
It was also said Young would donate to two charities where Palestinian and Israeli children could learn and make music together.
