Turkish Airlines suspends Israel flights
Turkish Airlines, Turkey's national air carrier, has temporarily suspended all flights to Tel Aviv, the biggest city in Israel, for 24 hours. The company's chief executive said on Wednesday it was in response to insecurity in the area.

The announcement follows an order by the United States' Federal Aviation Administration which barred U.S. airlines from flying to Tel Aviv for 24 hours after a rocket landed close to the city's Ben Gurion Airport.

Turkish Airlines chief, Temel Kotil, said that two aircraft on Tuesday tried to fly from Istanbul to Tel Aviv but had to turn back because of "insecurity".

"We [will] closely follow the latest developments and will revise our flights," he said.

On Tuesday, the Turkish Ministry of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications' General Directorate of Civil Aviation announced that it would not fly to Ben Gurion Airport for the next 24 hours.
