Founded by Eray Düzgünsoy and Fakih Kademoğlu in 2009, the Istanbul-based Yakaza Ensemble makes intense multicultural, multi-instrumental music.

After Ceren Erendor and Ömer Sarıgedik joined the band, they released their first studio album, "A'mak-Hayal," in March 2010 on A.K. Music Istanbul and gave many concerts around Turkey and abroad including at the Ruhrtriennale in Germany and the Balkan World Music Festival in Hungary, which was one of the cities announced as the European Capital of Culture. Their second album, "Yakaza Ensemble Meets Syunoven," was initially released in Japan in 2012 by Crosspoints - Proception before it came out in Turkey. Following the release of their second album, the band made an EP featuring three DJ mixes of their album's first song by three top Japanese DJs. In May 2012, the Turkish version of their album was released by A.K. Music Istanbul. Yakaza Ensemble uses various instruments from different regions of the world.
