Switzerland tries experimental Ebola vaccine
The United Nations World Health Organization (WHO) said that the trial was conducted among 120 volunteer participants, who will be sent as medical staff to fight against the Ebola epidemic in West Africa.

The new vaccine, developed by a British drug company, is based on a genetically modified virus which makes the immune system to generate antigens against an Ebola virus protein.
Part of the group who were vaccinated will go to the Ebola affected regions in the West Africa, while the other half will stay in Switzerland.

Meanwhile, the trial had been conducted on small groups in the United States, Britain and Mali.
There are no proven drugs or vaccines for Ebola, mainly because the disease is so rare it's been hard to attract research funding.
