Chelsea snatch draw Atletico in Madrid
Chelsea had a narrow escape from defeat Tuesday night against Spanish rivals Atletico Madrid as the Champions League semi-finals thriller ended in a goalless draw in Madrid. Atletico Madrid could not break the deadlock against the English giants despite turning up the pressure in the second half.

Chelsea played in a defensive manner throughout as the hosts attacked at Vicente Calderon Stadium. Atletico's Turkish star Arda Turan was on the pitch for the last half an hour. Chelsea's two regulars, Czech goalkeeper Petr Cech and English centre-back John Terry, were sidelined due to injury problems.

Meanwhile, Chelsea captain Frank Lampard and Nigerian defensive midfielder John Obi Mikel and Atletico Madrid's captain Gabi are each suspended for the second leg in London on April 30.

The other semi final matchup will be played between Real Madrid and last year’s winners Bayern Munich on Wednesday in Madrid. The clash of two giants will kick off at 20:45 CET.
