Turkish Spor Toto Super League matchday 3 round-up
Matchday 3 in Turkey's top division, Spor Toto Super League was completed on Monday night.

Istanbul club Besiktas toppled Bursaspor 1-0 in an away game Monday night thanks to the late winner scored by Turkish midfielder Olcay Sahan in the 86th minute enabling the "Black Eagles" to reach third place in the standings with seven points.

Meanwhile, Trabzonspor barely snatched a 1-1 draw against Istanbul Basaksehir in stoppage time during Monday's away match. Former Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo's equaliser from a penalty kick in injury time saved Trabzonspor. The home team Istanbul Basaksehir's goal was scored by Bosnian winger Edin Visca in 47th minute.

Defending Turkish league champions Fenerbahce narrowly defeated Gaziantepspor 1-0 on Sunday night at home. The "Yellow canaries" scored a valuable goal with a controversial penalty made by experienced central midfielder Emre Belozoglu in the 82nd minute. Fenerbahce increased their points to seven and climbed to runner-up position in the league table.

Turkish Spor Toto Super League newcomers Balikesirspor defeated Istanbul giants Galatasaray 2-0 on Saturday in Balikesir province.

The home side Balikesirspor was up 1-0 in the 22nd minute, thanks to an own goal by Galatasaray defender Semih Kaya. Balikesirspor's forward Sercan Yildirim, who was loaned from Galatasaray, took a shot towards the goal but the ball went into the net after being deflected when Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera was caught on the wrong foot. In the 44th minute, the home team increased the margin thanks to Balikesirspor forward Gokhan Unal's close range missile from inside the box: 2-0.

Despite Galatasary's domination in the second half, their efforts were futile in scoring, giving the newcomers their first three points and leaving Galatasaray with four points after the third game of the season.
