UEFA unveils 'Team of the Year 2014'
European football's governing body announced the "Team of the Year 2014" on Friday.

According to the survey results on UEFA.com, more than 8.4 million football fans voted for the composition of the best football team of 2014.

Real Madrid's Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo received the majority of the votes (598,287) and he was selected in 78% of the teams established by fans.

While Atletico Madrid's Turkish player Arda Turan was one of the nominees, he did not make the final list. 

The composition of the 2014 team of the year, as voted by fans, is as follows:

Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich / Germany) 

Defenders: Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid / Spain), Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich / Germany), David Alaba (Bayern Munich / Austria), Diego Godin (Atletico Madrid / Uruguay)

Midfielders: Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich / Netherlands), Angel Di Maria (Real Madrid / Manchester United / Argentina), Toni Kroos (Bayern Munich / Real Madrid / Germany)

Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid / Portugal), Lionel Messi (Barcelona / Argentina), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Paris Saint-Germain / Sweden)
