Turkish top football division Spor Toto Super League title contenders Galatasaray managed to topple Kasimpasa 3-2 in the league match at Kasimpasa Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadium and came out on top of the league on Saturday.

Home team Kasimpasa took the lead when Portuguese midfielder Andre Castro scored the opening goal of the match in the 17th minute. Near the end of the first half, they doubled the gap with their Turkish-German winger Tunay Torun, with Galatasaray appearing to momentarily lose composure.

However, in the second half visitors Galatasaray narrowed the gap to one in the 52nd minute, with Turkish central midfielder Selcuk Inan took the stage. Three minutes later, Turkish target man of the Lions, Umut Bulut scored the equalizer for his team, bringing great encouragement for a leading score.

In the 66th minute, Galatasaray completed a formidable comeback when their Turkish goal poacher Burak Yilmaz found the net.

Dictating the tempo of the match in the remainder, Galatasaray avoided mistakes and won 3-2.

The Lions are now leading the league with 55 points.

Istanbulite rivals Fenerbahce and Besiktas will face off in the derby match on Sunday. Home team Fenerbahce aim to narrow the four-point gap against Besiktas, which have 54 points in standings.

The clash kicks off Sunday at 20:00 local time (1800 GMT).
