US professional footballer jailed for murder
A former National Football League player was jailed for life on Wednesday for the murder of a fellow player, U.S. media reported.

Aaron Hernandez, 25, who played for the New England Patriots, was convicted by a jury in Massachusetts of killing semi-pro footballer, Odin Lloyd, 27.

Lloyd, the boyfriend of the sister of Hernandez’s fiancee, was shot six times at a derelict industrial site close to Hernandez's house in June 2013. Police found the keys of the car rented by Hernandez in Lloyd's pocket.

Hernandez was arrested within the hours and sacked by the Patriots.

During the trial, the prosecution presented evidence showing that Hernandez was with Lloyd at the time of the killing.
