One Turkish sergeant killed in attack on Turkish convoy in Kabul
Two people, including a Turkish soldier, were killed and another was wounded in a bomb attack in the Afghan capital Kabul, Turkish General Staff said early Thursday.

The attack hit a special team protecting Ambassador Ismail Aramaz, NATO's Senior Civilian Representative in the country, the General Staff announced in a statement.

The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack but said the Turkish convoy was not the intended target.

"The target was U.S. military convoy," Taliban purported spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said on his Twitter account.

Afghan officials also confirmed the attack, adding that an Afghan passerby had also been killed.

No announcement has been made regarding the identities of the victims.
