UN Security Council discusses Egyptian crisis

Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) Jan Eliasson briefed the Council on the developments in Egypt in a consultation meeting upon an emergency meeting call by Britain, France and Australia. Permanent Representative of Argentina to the United Nations Maria Cristina Perceval said after the meeting, held behind the closed doors, that the members discussed to stop bloodshed and end violence in Egypt. Perceval said the Council also called for a national consensus in Egypt. She condemned the massacre on behalf of her country.
