Southeastern Anatolia Exporters surpass $3.7 billion in foreign sales

Members of the Southeastern Anatolia Exporters' Associations (GAİB) conducted foreign sales amounting to $3.7 billion in the first four months of the year.

Ahmet Fikret Kileci, the Coordinator President of GAİB, stated in a written announcement that they celebrated their 40th anniversary in April, emphasizing GAİB's status as a large family with an annual export volume approaching $12 billion.

Kileci noted that they continued to seek alternative markets and customers due to the contraction in global demand, expressing confidence in exporters' ability to solve problems.

"In April, we carried out our activities with the necessary dedication and effort alongside our exporters. Our associations are working diligently in the field. We will do our part to further elevate our foreign trade figures in the upcoming period," he said.

According to the announcement, the region's export volume for the 4-month period amounted to $3.7 billion.

Analysis of export markets reveals that Middle Eastern countries maintained their position at the top of the region's foreign sales with a 41.6% share. EU countries followed at second place with 16.3%.

During the January-April period, the region's exporters sent products to 191 countries, with the top destinations for foreign sales being Iraq, the United States, Syria, the United Kingdom, and Saudi Arabia.
