Volume of loans from Turkey's banking sector increase by 4 billion Turkish lira in a week, regulator says.

Turkey's banks loaned a total of 1.937 trillion Turkish lira (US$512.5 billion) in the week ending April 11, Turkey's banking regulator has said.

According to the weekly bulletin from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, the BDDK, overall loans excluding the financial sector increased by 0.38 percent and totaled 999.3 billion lira, up from 995.6 billion lira the previous week.

The credit volume stood at 1.089 trillion Turkish lira as of April 4, up by 4 billion Turkish lira in a week.
