Turkey's Central Bank reserves made a historic increase in 2014 in the week leading up to July 4 with a $2.45 billion hike reaching $135.8 billion, according to weekly Central Bank figures on Thursday.

The Bank's gross foreign exchange reserves were up nearly $1.54 billion and reached $111.9 billion.

Gold reserves also increased by $914 million during the week to $21.56 billion.
