Lufthansa-Turkish Airlines joint flights due in 2 years
Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa plan to start joint-venture flights within two years, a senior official from Lufthansa said on Friday.

Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, both major air carriers in their countries, have been conducting lengthy negotiations over long-range flights through a joint venture.

Aage Dünhaupt, Lufthansa Director of Group Communications for Southeast Europe, Middle East & Africa, said that they have not yet determined a definite date to start flights but the expected plan is for the 2015-2016 winter season should negotiations run successfully.

The project will be actualized through SunExpress, which both Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines have shares in, in order to launch low-cost long-ranged flights in direct competition with Middle East Carriers.
