Strong winds interrupt sea transport in Istanbul
Turkey's largest commuter ferry operator IDO, Istanbul Fast Ferries Co. Inc., has cancelled a number of runs on Monday following meteorologic warnings of strong winds in Turkey’s biggest city, Istanbul.

The Turkish State Meteorological Service warned people on Sunday afternoon against heavy rain and some possible risks such as flood and lightning in Turkey's northwestern provinces including Istanbul, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Yalova, Bursa.

"IDO has cancelled some runs after 6pm for the safe travel of passengers," the company has said on Monday.

IDO has announced on its web page the list of runs that were cancelled due to heavy storm risk.

Runs include both local transportation and intercity travels such as Bursa-Yenikapi and Cinarcik-Yenikapi.

A decision concerning Tuesday's schedule will be taken tomorrow, a company official said.
