Talks between Serbia and IMF get under way
The International Monetary Fund has begun a two-week mission to Belgrade to discuss Serbia's economic measures and targets.

The IMF mission, led by Zuzana Murgasova, held the first meeting in Belgrade on Tuesday with representatives from the Serbian Central Bank (NBS), Serbian Finance Mister Dusan Vujovic and the President of the Central Bank, Jorgovanka Tabakovic.

The talks will continue until November 20 and include discussions on an IMF-backed economic program.

Serbia's current economic and financial mobility and its balance of the payments will also be discussed in light of the 2014 budget.

Monetary policy, financial sectors, constructive reforms, employment in the public sector, the restructuring of public companies and Serbia's macro economic perspective will come under scrutiny during the meetings, NBS said in a statement.

The last loan program for Serbia was suspended by the IMF in February 2012 when the Serbian government stopped reaching agreed targets on spending and covering public debt.
