Defense Minister Guler hints at establishing joint operations center with Iraq

Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler responded to journalists' questions at the Turkish Parliament reception.

Regarding the Türkiye-Greece Confidence-Building Measures Meeting held in the Greek capital Athens, Minister Guler said: "We will learn when the delegation returns, but it's positive. It's being conducted with mutual goodwill."

When asked about the status of the process of purchasing F-16 fighter jets from the United States, Guler replied: "We're in discussions. Soon, you'll learn where we stand with everything. We're working on it."

Guler also responded to a question about establishing a joint operations center with Iraq, saying: "We will work further on it. We will work together with them to see what we can do. After that, the responsibilities of the joint operations center will be determined. Right now, both sides have jointly decided only on the establishment."
