Following KAAN's developments closely, says UK ambassador

British Ambassador Jill Morris maintained that the U.K. is closely following the developments regarding Türkiye-produced KAAN, affirming support for Ankara's request to acquire Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets during Thursday's statements.

Morris underscored the robust defense ties between Türkiye and the U.K., expressing their intention to bolster collaboration further.

She emphasized the meticulous observation of the progress of the 5th Generation Fighter KAAN, ALTAY tanks and TCG ANADOLU ship, emphasizing that both countries' abilities are mutually advantageous.

The ambassador also conveyed endorsement for defense partnerships between Turkish and British corporations.

Support on Eurofighters

Ambassador Morris also mentioned Türkiye's desire to obtain Eurofighters. She emphasized Türkiye's significance as a critical ally for the U.K. and NATO, expressing support for Türkiye in acquiring Eurofighters.

The Eurofighter Typhoon, renowned for its exceptional capabilities and successful deployments with the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom, allied nations, and various countries globally, continues to play a crucial role in the defense relations between the U.K. and Türkiye.

The United Kingdom restates its dedication to assisting Türkiye in acquiring Eurofighter aircraft, collaborating with other participating countries in the program to maintain Türkiye's position as a NATO ally.
