Quentin Tarantino decides against "The Movie Critic" as his final film

Quentin Tarantino has officially abandoned his plans to make "The Movie Critic" his final film.

"The Movie Critic" was set to be Tarantino's 10th feature film, promising another collaboration with Brad Pitt, who had a lead role lined up. The film, conceptualized to be set in 1977, revolved around a low-profile movie critic who penned reviews for a pornographic magazine.

This role was speculated to include elements of Pitt's character Cliff Booth from "Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood," particularly Booth's portrayal as a film enthusiast in Tarantino's novelization of the movie.

Despite initial excitement, Tarantino expressed at last year's Cannes Film Festival that he would hold back on sharing more about the film until it could speak for itself. "I can’t tell you guys (anything) until you see the movie," Tarantino stated, hinting at potential surprises he had in store for his audience.

However, this anticipation came to an abrupt halt as Tarantino decided to pull the plug on the project.

According to the entertainment channel Deadline, the director had gone as far as rewriting the script, which led to delays in the production schedule. It was a move reminiscent of his previous pause on "The Hateful Eight" following a script leak, although he eventually revisited and completed that film.

Sources close to Tarantino reveal that after much contemplation, he chose to step away from "The Movie Critic" to explore new creative avenues.

This change of heart is not entirely out of character for Tarantino, who is known for his dynamic approach to filmmaking. As he searches for the right project to cap his illustrious directing career, fans are left to wonder what the iconic filmmaker will choose as his true final act.
