Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas expressed readiness to develop new partnerships and conduct joint efforts with Tanzania to improve the future of women and children.
Goktas, speaking at an honorary doctorate ceremony for Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan at Ankara University, thanked the administration for the meaningful event held at one of Türkiye's oldest universities.
"Today's honorary doctorate ceremony in economics, presented by the Faculty of Political Sciences, is a significant acknowledgment for Ankara University, which has played a crucial role in this country's and its youth's future from the Ottoman era to the present day.
Also known as Mektebi Mulkiye, it is a school with a weighty presence in the administrative cadres of the Republic of Türkiye, producing governors, diplomats and politicians. Therefore, the honorary doctorate title to be awarded to the President is highly valuable," she said.
Goktas highlighted Tanzania's significant achievements in various fields under President Hassan's leadership since 2021, from sustainable development to clean energy, tourism to agricultural transformation, and strong leadership in education and diplomacy.
"Especially noteworthy is the effort to ensure girls' school attendance and the significant work done to achieve gender equality, which is very valuable to us. In this regard, I would like to emphasize that we are open to developing new partnerships and conducting joint efforts for the future of women and children with Tanzania," she added.
