President Erdogan condemns Western hypocrisy on Gaza, advocates for unity

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized Western leaders for their hypocritical policies regarding the Gaza massacres, saying, "We have been closely following the hypocritical policies of Western leaders who have been lecturing us on democracy and freedom for years."

President Erdogan spoke at the International Union of Democrats (UID) Capacity Building and Training Workshop at the Exhibition Hall of the Presidential Complex.

Erdogan emphasized the significant role of the IDU in combating cultural racism, Islamophobia, discrimination, and even anti-Semitism. He praised the IDU's efforts in protecting the rights of European Turks, facilitating the integration process of European Turks, and supporting the participation of young generations in various sectors.

He commended the recent efforts of the IDU to extend support not only to Turkish nationals but also to other brotherly communities. He applauded the IDU for becoming a renowned organization over the past 20 years due to its activities centered around justice and equality.

In light of escalating threats such as Islamophobia and racism in Europe, Erdogan urged for increased efforts to combat discrimination. He emphasized the need to intensify the fight against injustice and inequality, emphasizing the motto "Rights are not given, they are taken."

Concerns Over Gaza Crisis

Erdogan reiterated Türkiye's steadfast stance in supporting Palestine, condemning the international community's silence over Israel's atrocities in Gaza. He criticized Western leaders for failing to condemn Israel's attacks and highlighted the need for a genuine peace process based on a two-state solution.

Erdogan addressed the challenges faced by the Turkish diaspora, particularly in Germany, regarding citizenship rights. He expressed satisfaction with Germany's recent decision to facilitate dual citizenship, acknowledging the contributions of the Turkish diaspora to the German economy and society.

Condemning the rise in racist attacks targeting Muslims and immigrants in Europe, he emphasized the need for solidarity and action against such acts of violence. He called for justice for victims of racist attacks and urged European leaders to address underlying issues of discrimination and xenophobia.
