Turkish Foreign Ministry denies Syrian bishops kidnapped in Aleppo are held in Turkey

Turkish Foreign Ministry denied Monday allegations that two Christian Orthodox bishops, who were kidnapped last April in Syria, are held in Turkey. "The allegations are bare of truth. It is of great importance to remind once again that Turkey bristles with indignation the abduction of 2 clerics, and wishes for their safe return in the shortest possible time. We are ready to do our best to secure their release," the ministry said.
The bishops, Yohanna Ibrahim and Boulos Yazigi, were abducted gunmen in the northern city of Aleppo on 22 April. Their whose whereabouts are still unknown.   They were kidnapped as they were on their way back to Aleppo from Turkey. Their driver was shot and killed in the attack.
