Turkey's EU Minister and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis remarked his reliance that Turkish-German relations would be more brilliant in future, adding Angela Merkel has Recep Tayyip Erdogan's record of winning the third consecutive election by increasing her votes. EU Minister Bagis assessed to AA his contacts, which he met politicians and businessmen with his delegation, in Mannheim and Frankfurt for two days in Germany. Stating that he joined very comprehensive and important meetings in Germany as the invitee of Union of European Turkish Democrats, EU Minister said, "I closely observed the political determination of Turkish citizens to have say in the future of Germany." "Mrs. Merkel proposed a privileged partnership deal to Turkey instead of EU membership before. Nevertheless they dropped this idea on noticing Britain's potential to fulfill this option, we stressed Turkey would only accept full accession. Turkish-German relations is a privileged partnership today," Bagis also said. Egemen Bagis underlined that Germany is the country which sends the most number of tourists and belonging most number of companies in Turkey, and have the most Turkish population, and he said, "Mrs. Merkel has become the second political leader after Recep Tayyip Erdogan who was elected by increasing the votes in third consecutive elections." After a dinner with businessmen in Germany, EU Minister Bagis departed from Frankfurt Airport to Istanbul with his delegation.
