Turkish PM Erdogan announces new ministers
Turkish PM Erdogan announces the government's new cabinet list after his meeting with the Turkish President.
Isler was born in Turkey’s capital city of Ankara, in Kizilcahamam district, on October 7, 1960.
After being guest lecturer in Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia, he worked as the Principal Consultant in the Prime Ministry of Turkey. Isler, who was the head of Gazi University Arabic Language Department, knows advanced level of Arabic and English languages and is married with three children.
- Nihat Zeybekci, new Economy Minister -
Nihat Zeybekci, a member of parliament from Afyon province, became the new Economy Minister, said Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday.
Zeybekci was born in Denizli province in 1961. He graduated from Marmara University Department of Business. He completed his post graduate education at Istanbul University Department of International Relations. Zeybekci studied on economy in London College.
He served as a mayor of Denizli province in 2004-2011 from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party). Zeybekci is married and he knows advanced level of English and German.
- Idris Gulluce, new Minister of Environment and City Planning -
Idris Gulluce becomes the new Minister of Environment and City Planning.
Gulluce was born in eastern Erzurum province in 1950. The new minister graduated from Faculty of Civil Engineering at Yildiz Technical University.
Having worked as a civil engineer and administrator in Libya, Gulluce is also a shareholder of an industrial institute in private sector and worked as director general.
Gulluce was elected as Istanbul deputy of AK Party in 23rd term and became chairman of public works, transportation and tourism commission in 24th term.
The minister speaks English at middle-level and Arabic and is married with 5 children.
- Mevlut Cavusoglu, new Turkey's EU Affairs Minister -
Mevlut Cavusoglu will run ministerial post for Turkey's EU Affairs in the new cabinet.
Cavusoglu was born in southern district Alanya of Antalya in 1968. Graduating from International Affairs Department of Political Science Faculty of Ankara University, the new minister received education on European Union Proficiency in Ankara University.
Cavusoglu, a founder member of the Justice and Development (AK) Party, was elected as Antalya deputy in 22nd and 23rd terms.
The new minister is married with one child and speaks English, Japanese and German.
- Aysenur Islam, new Minister of Family and Social Policies -
Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party’s (AK Party) MP Aysenur Islam became the new Ministerof Family and Social Policies.
Islam was born in Istanbul in 1958. She was the board member of Yunus Emre Institute and had numerous books and articles published. Islam knows an advanced level of English language and she is married with one child.
- Efkan Ala, new Interior Minister -
Erdogan also announced Efkan Ala, Undersecretary at Turkish Prime Ministry, as the new InteriorMinister of Turkey.
Graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Political Sciences in 1987, Ala served in Sakarya Governorate for two years, then as district governor in Dernekpazari and Kabatas two years each, and as deputy governor in Turkey's eastern Tunceli province.
Later, he performed different duties in the Ministry of Interior, General Directorate of Provincial Administration and Ministry of Tourism, respectively.
After serving as Batman and Diyarbakir Governor, Ala was appointed as Undersecretary at Turkish Prime Ministry on September 10, 2007. He is married and has two children.
- Bekir Bozdag, new Justice Minister -
The prime minister announced that Bekir Bozdag became the new Justice Minister.
Bozdag was born in Yozgat province of Turkey in 1965. He graduated from Uludag University Department of Theology and also Selcuk University Department of Law. Later, he completed a master's degree program at the Department of History at Uludag University.
Bozdag worked as a lawyer after working for a while in the public sector. Bozdag was elected as a member of parliament from Yozgat province at the 22nd and 23rd terms. Bozdag was a Deputy Prime Minister in the Turkish government.
- Fikri Isik, new Science, Industry and Technology Minister -
Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party deputy from Kocaeli province Fikri Isik became Turkey's new Science, Industry and Technology Minister, said Erdogan.
Fikri Isik was born in 1965 in Turkey's northern province of Gumushane and graduated from Middle East Technical University (METU) Department of Mathematics Teaching.
After serving as a teacher of English language and mathematics in Izmit and Istanbul, Isik became a founding member in the executive board of AK Party Kocaeli branch, then as the provincial head of the AK Party Kocaeli branch for four years.
Then, he was elected as AK Party deputy from Kocaeli for the 23rd and 24th terms in the Turkish Parliament.
Since January 31, 2013, Isik was also serving as the National Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Committee Head at the Turkish Parliament.
Isik knows English and Arabic. He is married and has four children.
- Lutfi Elvan, new Minister of Transport, Maritime and Communication -
Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party’s (AK Party) MP Lutfi Elvan became the new Minister of Transport, Maritime and Communication.
Elvan was born on March 12, 1962 in Karaman. He entered the Turkish Parliament on 23rd and 24th terms as AK Party’s MP from Karaman and became the member of Turkey – European Union (EU) Joint Parliamentary Commission and Commission of Adaptation to EU. He was elected as the Head of the Planning and Budgetary Commission in 24th term.
Elvan knows English language and is married with two children.
- Akif Cagatay Kilic, new Minister of Youth and Sports -
Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party’s (AK Party) MP Akif Cagatay Kilic became the newMinister of Youth and Sports.
Kilic was born on June 15, 1976 in the German city of Siegen. He lived in Germany until he was 10, before moving to Turkey. He worked as a consultant in AK Party’s Central Office in 2003 and worked as a staff member to the Prime Minister's Advisor.
He became a member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s (NATOPA) Turkish Group.
Kilic, who knows an advanced level of German and English, is married with two children.
