Turkey has inspired many countries with its democracy, values and experiences since 2002, the year when ruling Justice and Development Party came to power, Turkey's culture minister said before the UN General Assembly on Monday.

Turkey has always backed the principles and aims of the United Nations' laws, Omer Celik said at the session on "Culture and Sustainable Development." He said a culture of creativity needed to be reinforced to create a successful 21st century.

Touching on the importance of education for sustainable development, he said high quality education and an inclusive social environment should hold a high place UN's post-2015 agenda.
