13 PKK terrorists killed in eastern Turkey
At least 13 PKK terrorists have been killed in ongoing anti-terror operations in Turkey’s southeastern Hakkari, Sirnak, and Diyarbakir provinces within the last 24 hours, the Turkish military said Sunday.

According to the Turkish General Staff, the military killed 11 PKK terrorists Saturday in Semdinli district of Hakkari province and two others in Sirnak and Diyarbakir provinces.

Since July, security forces in the country have been conducting anti-terror operations against the PKK, which is also considered a terrorist organization by the U.S. and the EU.

Air-and-ground operations against the PKK terrorist organization inside Turkey and northern Iraq started after the PKK renewed its armed campaign against the Turkish state following a two-and-a-half year lull in the attacks.

Over 1,700 PKK terrorists have been killed so far in operations, according to the government.

Meanwhile, two people suspected of being Daesh members were detained Saturday in southern Kilis province as they were trying to cross into Turkey on the Syrian border, the Turkish General Staff said.
