Alonso on Bayern, Munich's radar for manager role

Bayern Munich and Liverpool are looking for new managers this summer.

German broadcaster Sky said Bayern has started negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso. The former Liverpool midfielder is also being reported as one of the Reds' targets to replace Jurgen Klopp.

Bayern Munich's honorary president, Uli Hoeness, has claimed that his club, Liverpool and Real Madrid, are "working on" a deal to appoint Alonso as their new manager.

Earlier this month, Sky reported that Bayern had opened talks with Bayer Leverkusen coach Alonso to replace Thomas Tuchel in the summer.

Alonso led his team into the season as the Bundesliga leader and was undefeated this season.
