The boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, which came to the fore with allegation, was decided to be held on July 20 and accepted as a professional bout
George Foreman referred to the fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul as an exhibition, despite the announcement on Monday that a professional match scheduled for July 20th in Texas had been confirmed.
Unlike standard pro fights, the rules for the Tyson-Paul bout, set for eight rounds, call for two-minute rounds and 14-ounce gloves. Rounds are usually three minutes and gloves typically weigh 10 ounces.
"It's a total exhibition!" Former heavyweight champion Foreman said after the rules were announced Monday, "It's great for every man; Tyson won't get hurt and Paul can have a good night. Paul is doing more in boxing than any other main contender."
Former heavyweight boxer Tony Tucker suggested that the match be planned for three rounds, citing Mike Tyson's age as the rationale.
"The shorter rounds are in Tyson's favor and the bigger gloves are probably in Paul's favor," said challenge organizer Kathy Duva, "At least they both know what to expect going in."
