The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will announce the host city for the 2020 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games on Saturday.

The Istanbul 2020 committee, which is under the leadership of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will compete with Tokyo and Madrid at 125th IOC General Assembly in Argentina. Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag and Minister of Youth and Sports Suat Kilic will attend the presentations as well. The 5 leading sponsors' representatives of Istanbul 2020 will also accompany the committee.  On the afternoon of September 7, President of the International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge will announce the host city of the 125th Olympic Games to be held in 2020. Before the election to determine the candidate city, Istanbul (Turkey), Madrid (Spain), Tokyo (Japan) will make their presentations. Each presentation will last for forty-five minutes and will be followed with a 15-minute question-answer period.  A secret e-voting will be held at 9.45 pm (in the Eastern European Standard Time) after the presentations and the city which receives the least votes during the first tour will be eliminated. A second ballot will be held and the two cities entering the final will simultaneously be invited onto the stage where Jacques Rogge will announce the hosting city at 11.00 pm on Saturday.  Meanwhile, Turkey will witness a big crowd that will wait at Sultanahmet Square for the announcement of 2020 Olympics on Saturday night.
