English Premier League giants Manchester United appointed Dutch manager Louis van Gaal as their new manager on Monday. In a statement made by the "Red Devils", van Gaal will start his job in Manchester United after managing Netherlands National Football Team in 2014 FIFA World Cup to be held in Brazil beginning on June 12.

The English club confirmed that they signed a three-year-contract with the 62-year-old Dutch manager and he will be assisted by 'Red Devil's' Welsh legend Ryan Giggs managing the team temporarily after Scottish manager David Moyes' dismissal.

Van Gaal, having managed several top class teams in Europe during his career, has also won numerous trophies in many different teams such as Ajax and AZ Alkmaar in Netherlands, Barcelona in Spain and Bayern Munich in Germany.

Apart from many league titles with the clubs that he managed, van Gaal won UEFA Champions League, UEFA Cup (now known as UEFA Europa League), UEFA Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup as well.
