Atletico Madrid's Brazilian playmaker Diego Ribas agrees three year contract with Istanbul club Fenerbahce.

Atletico Madrid's Brazilian attacking midfielder Diego Ribas, whose contract expires on June 30, signed a three year contract with Istanbul giants Fenerbahce on Tuesday. According to Spanish sports newspaper AS, 29-year-old Brazilian playmaker will play for Turkish Spor Toto Super League winners Fenerbahce as of next season. The Brazilian player's agent and father, Djair Ribas confirmed the deal for Diego to play for Fenerbahce for the next three seasons.

Having played for several European teams including Porto, Werder Bremen, Juventus, Wolfsburg and Atletico Madrid during his career, Diego, who was loaned from Germany's Wolfsburg to Spanish La Liga winners Atletico Madrid, scored one goal and made one assist in 13 Spanish La Liga matches in addition to helping "Atleti" to qualify for the final in UEFA Champions League.

Capped for Brazil 34 times in total, Fenerbahce's new signing was not selected for the 2014 FIFA World Cup squad of "A Seleção" (The Selection) by the national team's head coach Luis Felipe Scolari.
