Mexico started their World Cup campaign in style by beating Cameroon 1-0 thanks to the goal scored by Oribe Peralta in Group A match played in Natal on Friday.

Both teams entered the game in a balanced way. In the first half, Mexico saw two of its goals scored by its 25-year-old forward Giovani dos Santos disallowed due to offside decisions by the referees.

Mexico's 30-year-old forward Oribe Peralta scored a 61st-minute winner against a stubborn Cameroon.

In the remaining minutes Cameroon pushed hard for an equalizer and worked the ball in Mexico's box but could not manage to score a goal.
