Chile knocked reigning champions Spain out of World Cup
Chile toppled 2010 FIFA World Cup winners Spain 2-0 in the second match of 2014 FIFA World Cup Group B played at Maracana, Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday.

Playing bravely against Spain, Chile scored two shocking goals against their European opponents in the first half. In the 20th minute Chilean forward Eduardo Vargas and in the 43th minute midfielder Charles Aranguiz found the net each and the first half ended 2-0 in favour of Chile.

In the second half, Spain increased the pressure as expected, however, Chile found many chances on counter attacks but wasted them. Despite wasting crucial chances against tough opponents Spain, Chile managed to win the game and reached 6 points in the group.

Having been hammered by the Netherlands 5-1 in the first match, reigning World Cup and European champions Spain were eliminated mathematically after the defeat at the hands of Chile. 

Spain will play a consolation match against Australia meanwhile Chile will be struggling against the Netherlands to complete the group as leaders.

After second matches, results in 2014 FIFA Group B are as follows:
Australia: 2 - The Netherlands: 3
Spain: 0 - Chile: 2
