Colombia survive Ivory Coast surge to win
Colombia survived a late surge from the Ivory Coast to win 2-1 in their Group C match played in Brasilia's Estadio Nacional on Thursday.

The match started at a high tempo with both sides intent on scoring the game's first goal. In the end, neither were able to make a mark in the first half and the game waited until the 64th minute for a goal. 

Colombia's star winger James Rodriguez headed in from a corner kick and six minutes later his compatriot Juan Quintero doubled the score in a 70th minute counter-attack, to make the game 2-0. 

Soon afterwards, in the 73rd minute, Ivory Coast managed to narrow the gap. Ivorian forward Gervinho skipping past three Colombian defenders in the box and fired in for 2-1. Ivory Coast continued to throw themselves forward but ultimately were not able to find the second goal.
