French President Francois Hollande outlined preparations for the tournament at the Elysee Palace.

French President Francois Hollande has outlined his country’s preparations for Euro 2016.

Speaking at the Elysee Palace on Thursday, where he met with football officials, as well as ministers and the mayors of the cities where the matches will be played, Hollande pledged state support for the tournament.

The UEFA European Championship 2016 will be held between June 10 and July 10 at stadia in Paris, Bordeaux, Lens, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Saint-Etienne and Toulouse.

Hollande said the competition is expected to contribute significantly to the French economy.
