Turkish giants Galatasaray lost to Balikesirspor 2-0 in an away match in Turkish Spor Toto Super League on Saturday.

Home side Balikesirspor was up 1 - 0 in the 22nd minute thanks to an own goal by Galatasaray defender Semih Kaya.

Balikesirspor's forward Sercan Yildirim, who was loaned from Galatasaray took a shot towards the goal but the ball went into the net after being deflected when Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera was caught on the wrong foot.

In the 37th minute, Galatasaray's equaliser was disallowed, as Burak Yilmaz was strayed in offside position.

In the 44th minute, home team increased the margin to two thanks to Balikesirspor forward Gokhan Unal's close range missile from inside the box: 2-0.

The game ended with Balikesirspor's 2-0 victory when Galatasaray's efforts in the second half were far from scoring despite their domination, giving the newcomers their first 3 points and leaving Galatasaray with 4 points after the third game of the season.
