A 4-1 away loss for the Istanbul club lessens their chances of proceeding in the Champions League

Galatasaray lost 4-1 to Arsenal in Wednesday’s Champions League match in London.

Danny Welbeck’s 22nd minute goal put Arsenal ahead before making it 2-0 eight minutes later.

Just before half-time Arsenal made it 3-0 after Alexis Sanchez finished in the box.

In the 52nd minute Welbeck got his hat-trick with a classy finish to make it 4-0.

The visitors were thrown a lifeline when keeper Wojciech Szczesny brought down Burak Yilmaz in the box. Szczesny was sent off in the 60th minute and Burak converted the penalty successfully to make it 4-1.

In the other Group D game, Borussia Dortmund eased past Anderlecht 3-0 in Brussels. Ciro Immobile and Adrian Ramos scored for the Germans.
