Real Madrid star Christiano Ronaldo wins Top Goalscorer award
Cristiano Ronaldo, the star player of Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid, was awarded the World’s Top Goalscorer 2013 prize by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics on Friday.

Sharing his photo with the award on his Instagram account, Ronaldo remarked, "I feel honored to win the World’s Top Goalscorer 2013 award by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics. Thank you all."

In UEFA competitions, Cristiano Ronaldo managed to score a total of 81 goals for Real Madrid and his native Portugal so far.

He played an important role in helping his team be crowned as UEFA Champions League and Copa del Rey champions last season.

UEFA is European football's governing body, and encompasses both club and national-level football.

The Copa del Rey is a season-long domestic cup tournament in which all Spanish teams are allowed to compete, not just those in Spain's top division, La liga.
