Manchester City's French midfielder Samir Nasri advances his team to round 16 of the UEFA Champions League

English club Manchester City toppled their Italian opponents Roma 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League group match played at Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Wednesday night.
The victory means Manchester City advance to round 16 of the tournament.
Visitors Manchester City's French midfielder Samir Nasri broke the deadlock in the 60th minute. His shot hit the crossbar and went in, 1-0.
In the 72nd minute, Kostas Manolas, Roma's Greek defender, had a header which rattled the bar.
With four minutes to go, Manchester City's Argentine full-back Pablo Zabaleta doubled the score to 2-0, with Samir Nasri making the assist.
Manchester City can now proceed further in Champions League, whilst Roma sink to the second-tier UEFA Europa League tournament.
Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Real Madrid, Basel, Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Schalke 04, Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk all qualified for round 16, the knockout stages, of the UEFA Champions League.
Olympiakos, Liverpool, Zenit, Anderlecht, Roma, Ajax, Sporting Lisbon and Athletic Bilbao advanced to the Europa League, as they each managed to complete the group stage in third place in groups.
