Barcelona won UEFA Super Cup trophy by barely beating Sevilla 5-4 after extra time in the final on Tuesday night.

Super Cup final started with freekick goals, Sevilla scored the opener when Argentine midfielder Ever Banega found the net from free-kick in the third minute, 1-0.

Barcelona quickly replied in the seventh minute. Argentine star Lionel Messi hit the target from freekick, 1-1.

In the 16th minute of the match "Barca" came back as Messi scored from free-kick again, 2-1.

Near the end of the first half Barcelona made it three. Brazilian midfielder Rafinha finished in close range, 3-1. Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez produced the assist.

Barcelona increased the gap to three in the 52nd minute as Suarez scored one-on-one, 4-1.

Sevilla narrowed the goal difference to two five minutes later. Sevilla captain Jose Antonio Reyes found the net by a close range shot, he was free in the area, 2-4.

In the 71st minute Sevilla were awarded a penalty when Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu pulled Vitolo in the area.

French forward Kevin Gameiro put the ball into the net, 3-4.

Sevilla equalised in the 81st minute, Ukrainian winger Yevhen Konoplyanka scored the equaliser, Italian forward Ciro Immobile made the assist from the edge of the box, 4-4.

Regular time of the match ended 4-4 so the match went to extra time.

In the 115th minute Barcelona took the lead again. Messi hit the free-kick, however, the ball hit the wall, Messi took the shot without trapping the ball. Sevilla goalkeeper Beto deflected the ball, however, Barcelona forward Pedro Rodriguez followed the rebound and put the ball in the back of the net, 5-4.

Near the end of the extra time, Sevilla defender Adil Rami missed a great opportunity.

Barcelona won the match 5-4 after extra times.

This is the fifth time that the Catalan giants lifted the Super Cup trophy. Their last win was in 2011.

It was the third loss for Sevilla after defeats against AC Milan in 2007, and Real Madrid in 2014.

Sevilla had cruised past Barcelona 3-0 and won the Super Cup for the first time in 2006.
