Sadiku header gives Albania hope of Last 16 and sends Romania home

Albanian striker Armando Sadiku made history on a emotional night for his country as he scored their first ever goal in a major finals to beat Romania 1-0 – and now they face an agonising wait to see if it is enough to clinch a place in the last 16.
The result means Albania finish third in Group A, ahead of Romania who go home. But until other groups are completed they won’t know if it is enough to be one of only four third-placed teams who qualify for the knockout stage. Whatever happens, however, this was a huge night for Albanian football.
