Three policemen martyred on PKK terrorists attack in Sirnak

Sirnak was the scene of an early morning attacking, which is being blamed on the PKK terrorist organization.

Police sources said the three officers succumbed to their injuries in a hospital after being wounded in Sirnak’s Idil district.

Four other injured policemen are still receiving treatment.

PKK terrorists detonated improvised explosives planted on the road before opening.

An investigation is under way, sources added.

The PKK - considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU - resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in late July.

Since then, more than 200 members of the security forces have been martyred and thousands of PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
