Turkish military kills '28 Daesh terrorists' in Syria

Twenty-eight Daesh terrorists were killed in two separate Turkish military operations involving shelling and airstrikes on the militant group’s positions in Syrian territory close to Turkey’s border Wednesday, unnamed security sources said Thursday.

In the first incident, Turkish army opened artillery fire on Daesh positions after military intelligence learnt the terror group was planning to attack Turkey from north of Aleppo province, security sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking with the media, said. At least 14 Daesh members were killed in this operation.

In a separate operation, Turkish army launched five airstrikes on Syrian territories close to Turkish border, which killed 14 more Daesh militants and destroyed a two-storey building.
