The Israeli army said its forces had defused two explosives devices near a security fence between Israel and the Palestinian territory.
“The devices were planted in order to attack IDF (army) forces operating on the border. Remains of the devices were gathered for further investigation,” it said in a statement.
According to eyewitnesses, a number of armored vehicles and bulldozers crossed the border fence into the northern town of Beit Hanoun.
The bulldozers scooped a large tract of farmland before turning back, they said.
A Palestinian was slightly injured when Israeli forces opened fire into northern Gaza Strip, Palestinian Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said.
Israeli forces stationed near the border often stage limited incursions into the Gaza Strip, which has been reeling under a decade-long Israeli blockade.
