Heavy clashes continue in Severodonetsk city: Ukrainian army

Heavy clashes with the Russian forces were ongoing in the central part of the city of Severodonetsk, the Ukrainian General Staff said on Friday.

Presenting the latest update on the Russian attack launched 100 days ago, the Ukrainian army said the Russian forces withdrew from settlement areas falling in the direction of Donetsk city after suffering losses.

In a statement, the Ukrainian army said the Russian forces continued to target the civilian infrastructure in various districts.

In the past 24 hours, according to the statement, Russia lost five battle tanks, three artillery systems, two armored vehicles, and three Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to UN estimates, at least 4,113 civilians have been killed and 4,916 injured in Ukraine since the war began, with the true toll believed to be much higher.

Over 6.8 million people have fled to other countries, while more than 7.7 million have been internally displaced, according to the UN refugee agency.
