ICC considers issuing arrest warrant for Israeli PM over Gaza attacks

The International Criminal Court (ICC) is reportedly considering issuing arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as other military and political leaders, according to a report from Israel's Channel 12 News.

The ICC is expected to remedy its failure to stop the ongoing genocide since Oct. 7 by issuing an arrest warrant for Netanyahu.

On Tuesday, an "emergency meeting" took place at the Israeli prime minister's office, with the participation of government ministers and legal experts. The meeting aimed to discuss strategies to prevent the issuance of arrest warrants for high-ranking Israeli officials.

It is reported that Tel Aviv believes arrest warrants could be announced shortly.

South Africa recently lodged its case with the International Court of Justice (ICJ), accusing Israel of violating the Genocide Convention.

The ICJ, which handles state-level crimes, saw unanimous recognition from its judges that there's a plausible case of Israel committing genocide in Gaza Strip. However, the court's final ruling could be years away.
